For Our Advocates

Volunteers receive 37 hours of initial training. There are at least two training classes a year, offered in the daytime and evening. CASA volunteers are also required to participate in 12 hours of continuing education per year through special programs we offer and/or through approved outside events, books, documentaries, and lectures.

CPS Investigation Procedures September 27th, 6:00pm - 7:30pm; Location: CASA Staunton office

Attachment Relationships October 4th, 6:00pm - 7:30pm; Location: CASA Staunton office

  • Court Process: The timeline for a J&DR case (Emergency Removal to Final Hearing).
  • Court Forms: The purpose of the Petition, Affidavit, Summons, etc.
  • Elements of a CASA Court Report that are beneficial to the Judge and attorneys

A&E Intervention
Intervention™ is a powerful and gripping television series in which people confront their darkest demons and seek a route to redemption. The Intervention Television series profiles people whose dependencies on drugs and alcohol or other compulsive behavior has brought them to a point of personal crisis and estranged them from their friends and loved ones.

A&E Hoarders
Each 60-minute episode of Hoarders is a fascinating look inside the lives of two different people whose inability to part with their belongings is so out of control that they are on the verge of a personal crisis.

A&E Runaway Squad
NYC private investigator Joe Mazzilli's mission is to save desperate families who are torn apart when their children run away. Mazzilli and his squad track down and rescue endangered runaways who have fallen through the cracks. Mazzilli's goal: reunite the children with their families, and help them find a way to heal
